Salary: $41,600 - 41,600 per year Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience in information security and compliance regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications
• Preferred certifications in information security such as Security+, Pen+, or Ethical Hacker
• Experience with SIEM tools, particularly Microsoft Defender
• Experience with phishing campaigns and training
• Basic understanding of incident response procedures
• Knowledge of the OSI model and core networking concepts
• Familiarity with information security principles
• Strong analytical, organizational, and writing abilities
• Knowledge of NIST, CIS, and FERPA controls
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with technical and non-technical teams across all levels
• Experience using IT security systems and tools, including log analysis for security breaches
• Ability to follow department processes and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to apply security controls to software and hardware
• Basic ability to read and interpret security logs
• Fundamental knowledge of vulnerability scanning
• Basic understanding of risk assessment procedures

• We conduct or coordinate vulnerability scans and document findings along with risk mitigation plans
• We implement, monitor, and maintain preventive and detective controls
• We operate, administer, and monitor network-based and host-based intrusion detection and prevention systems
• We operate, administer, and monitor Microsoft Defender SIEM
• We analyze network traffic, intrusion attempts, activity logs, and system alerts to identify trends, anomalies, and potential security breaches
• We analyze compromised computing resources to strengthen security design and policy compliance
• We research, evaluate, test, and implement new security software solutions
• We enforce security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security profiles
• We perform other duties as assigned

We are seeking a Temporary Cyber Security Analyst to support security strategies and best practices under the direction of the Information Security Officer, following regulatory standards. This role offers up to 28 hours per week at a rate of $20.00 per hour.
