About the Role

You'll design and deliver enterprise VMware Cloud Foundation environments for our clients — from requirements through to a running, documented, production-ready SDDC. This is a billable, customer-facing consulting role: you'll be on client engagements, not running a single internal platform.

Responsibilities

Solution design & customer engagement

• [L3] Lead customer workshops to gather technical requirements and define infrastructure solutions.
• [L3] Own the solution architecture and make design decisions for scalability, reliability, and security.
• [L2+] Contribute to requirements gathering and design under the lead architect's direction.
• [L2+] Document solution architectures, implementation procedures, and operational best practices.

Implementation & engineering

• [L2+] Deploy and configure VMware Cloud Foundation components, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• [L2+] Implement and support vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, and SDDC Manager environments.
• [L2+] Automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management using Terraform, PowerCLI, Ansible, Python, or similar.
• [L2+] Configure and support VMware Aria Operations and Aria Automation solutions.
• [L2+] Deploy and integrate VMware AVI Load Balancer and Kubernetes platforms (Tanzu / VKS) when applicable.
• [L2+] Implement VMware security solutions, including vDefend and NSX Security.
• [L2+] Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues throughout implementation projects.

Delivery & leadership

• [L2+] Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
• [L3] Provide technical guidance and mentorship to consultants on the engagement.
• [L3] Act as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders.
• [L2+] Stay current on VMware Cloud Foundation releases and emerging technologies.

Requirements — Must-haves

All levels (L2+)

• Proven hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), including VCF 5.x and/or VCF 9.
• Strong expertise with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Hands-on experience with VMware NSX and vSAN.
• Experience administering and implementing SDDC Manager.
• Experience implementing enterprise VMware infrastructure solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable in a customer-facing consulting or implementation setting.

Additional for Principal (L3)

• Demonstrated  solution architecture ownership — you've defined and been accountable for enterprise VCF designs, not just executed them.
• Proven ability to  lead customer workshops and translate business requirements into infrastructure solutions.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to a delivery team.
• Experience with VMware Aria Operations (vROps) and/or Aria Automation.
• Depth in automating VMware environments with Terraform, PowerCLI, Ansible, or Python.
  Nice-to-haves (all levels)
• Experience with VMware AVI Load Balancer.
• Experience with VMware Tanzu, VKS, or Kubernetes platforms.
• Experience with VMware vDefend or NSX Security.
• VMware certifications such as VCP, VCAP, VCDX, or VMware Cloud Foundation certifications.
  • VCDX or VCAP is a meaningful signal for the Principal (L3) level.
• Experience with enterprise cloud modernization and hybrid cloud environments.
