The Frederick News-Post and Ogden Newspapers are looking for an experienced community news editor to lead editorial operations across one of the most distinctive regions in the Mid-Atlantic — where Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia converge in an area defined by rapid growth, deep history, and readers who genuinely depend on local journalism. This is a real editorial leadership role. You'll help oversee a flagship daily in Frederick, Maryland, plus two high-performing weekly papers, guiding a talented team while producing compelling work yourself. We're looking for someone who leads by example — a working editor who can coach reporters to their best work, spot the stories that matter, and think clearly about how community news must evolve to stay essential. You might be the right person if you:

• Have experience managing a news team in print and digital environments

• Know how to inspire creativity and accountability in equal measure

• Are hungry for great stories and impatient with mediocre ones

• Have a vision for what community journalism can still accomplish
