Job Summary The Intake Coordinator plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting by managing the initial patient intake process. This position involves gathering essential information from patients, coordinating care plans, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of dental and medical terminology, as well as experience in a receptionist role within a hospital or dental environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial patient assessments and gather necessary information for care plans.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient records efficiently using computerized systems.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
• Provide exceptional phone etiquette when communicating with patients and healthcare providers.
• Utilize coding knowledge to assist with insurance verification and claims processing.
• Support the dental or medical team by ensuring all intake paperwork is completed accurately.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized reception area for optimal patient experience.

Skills

• Proficient in care plans and understanding of dental terminology.
• Strong phone etiquette skills to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Experience with 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
• Familiarity with computerized systems used in healthcare settings.
• Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Receptionist is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of hospital operations and procedures is beneficial.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy is maintained.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.53 - $20.61 per hour
