Master Production Scheduler — Consumer Products

A day in this role

• Start of day: Review sales forecasts, customer orders, and the Master Production Plan. Translate them into a weekly plant schedule that aligns with established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
• Morning huddle: Coordinate with Operations, Procurement, Customer Service, and Supply Chain. Communicate the daily production plan to plant leadership and Corporate Supply Chain groups.
• Mid-morning: Run supply–demand checks; confirm just-in-time raw material availability for planned work orders. Address constraints and flag risks embedded in the schedule options.
• Midday: Keep a close pulse on WIP and finished goods inventory levels. Own cycle counts and inventory counting, validating accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Afternoon: Track actual output versus the Master Production Plan. Identify gaps, drive corrective actions, and report on production performance against the requested schedule.
• End of day: Prepare operations reports, summarize KPIs, and capture learnings to improve plant efficiency and support the broader supply plan and inventory strategy.

What you’ll take on

• Develop weekly production schedules driven by forecasts and customer demand.
• Plan and sequence work by department based on standard lead times and manufacturing routings.
• Analyze supply/demand trends quarterly; highlight 12–18 month risks and partner with department managers on efficiency improvements.
• Monitor WIP/FG positions and ensure materials are staged via JIT deliveries.
• Measure performance to schedule; surface gaps; implement solutions and performance metrics.
• Support adherence to inventory strategy, supply plans, and resource implications to meet demand.
• Own inventory counting and cycle counting processes; assist with raw material procurement.
• Generate and distribute operations-related reporting.
• Meet customer order requirements and escalate any constraints early.
• Other duties as needed to support the plant.

What you bring

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of production scheduling/planning in manufacturing (beverage, food, plastics).
• Fluency with Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and MRP/ERP systems (JD Edwards experience a plus).
• Ability to balance competing priorities and work independently while collaborating effectively.
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment; strong communication skills.
• Proactive, forward-thinking, and highly analytical; able to anticipate issues and plan solutions.

You should be proficient in: Production Planning & Scheduling; Excellent Communication Skills; Microsoft Excel.
