Salary: $73,000 - 113,000 per year Requirements:

• We require an associate degree in Architectural Drafting, CAD, Engineering Technology, or a related field; a bachelors degree is preferred.
• We need at least 1 year of experience in planning, design, field verification, or similar technical drafting work.
• We require proven experience creating and maintaining AutoCAD drawings for enterprise- or campus-scale security or access control systems.
• We need strong hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD 2019 or later, including 2D architectural and infrastructure drafting; 3D experience is a plus.
• We require experience working with building floor plans, IT systems, IT devices, architectural drawings, and related terminology.
• We need the ability to read, interpret, redline, and update security system drawings and specifications.
• We require basic desktop support experience for Windows-based systems, including hardware, software, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• We need the ability to work independently while partnering closely with engineering, field, service, and project teams.
• We require strong written and verbal communication skills.
• We need strong organizational, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• We require attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines.
• We need proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and web-based tools.
• We require a customer-focused mindset and the ability to work effectively in active operational environments.
• Preferred qualifications include a bachelors degree in CAD Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Preferred experience includes supporting airport, critical infrastructure, government, healthcare, higher education, or other regulated/high-availability environments.
• Familiarity with Revit, BIM 360, or similar CAD/BIM platforms is preferred.
• Knowledge of Esri products and GIS data management is preferred.
• Preferred knowledge includes physical security system components such as access control panels, controllers, readers, CCTV/video surveillance devices, low-voltage cabling, and security device symbol libraries.
• AutoCAD certification or formal CAD training is preferred.
• Experience with formal change-management and security-compliance processes is preferred.
• We require the ability to qualify for and maintain the necessary airport badging and CBP access.
• We require a valid drivers license.
• We need availability for periodic on-call rotations and overnight system maintenance activities.
• We require the ability to travel locally between OHare and Midway airports as needed.

• We manage and maintain AutoCAD drawings for campus-scale access control and security systems, including device layouts, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
• We create and update accurate as-built drawings to reflect field changes to panels, controllers, readers, cameras, and related security infrastructure.
• We work with field technicians, engineers, and project teams to verify drawing accuracy and support commissioning and project closeout.
• We maintain CAD standards, layer conventions, document libraries, revision records, and version control.
• We support system upgrades and modifications by updating impacted drawings through controlled change-management processes.
• We develop and maintain technical documentation, CAD standards, and drawing procedures.
• We produce space plans, architectural base plans, square-footage calculations, and construction drawings using 2D/3D BIM/CAD software.
• We perform field verification to confirm existing and as-built conditions.
• We review specifications, sketches, drawings, and supporting data to assess building conditions and security device placement.
• We assist with GIS data maintenance related to facility and security infrastructure.
• We provide basic desktop support for Windows-based end users, including hardware, software, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• We support system cutovers and testing during scheduled after-hours maintenance windows as needed.
• We communicate directly with customers and project stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently and professionally.
• We participate in on-call support for airport operations at OHare and Midway.
