Job Description

This role focuses on assembling precision medical tools in a clean room environment, using hand tools and specialized equipment to build, inspect, and package high-quality medical products. You will work with small components, follow strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, and contribute directly to the production of reliable medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble medical tools and components in a controlled clean room environment while following established GMP procedures.
• Use hand tools and specialized equipment to handle and assemble small parts with accuracy and care.
• Inspect hex tips for quality, consistency, and defects before assembly.
• Insert hex tips into nose cones using a hydraulic press in accordance with defined assembly procedures.
• Apply Teflon to clutches using a hydraulic press, ensuring correct placement and coverage.
• Assemble torque wrenches by following detailed work instructions and assembly diagrams.
• Install screws using a screw-down machine to complete the assembly process, verifying secure and accurate fastening.
• Adjust torque on wrenches using a torque tester, confirming that each tool meets required specifications.
• Install caps and any final components to complete the tool assembly.
• Perform final cleaning of completed wrenches to ensure they meet cleanliness and quality standards.
• Package completed wrenches according to packaging and labeling requirements for medical products.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with clean room protocols.
• Follow all safety, quality, and documentation requirements related to medical device production.

• Experience in production or assembly environments, preferably involving small parts or precision work.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment and follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
• Comfort using hand tools and operating basic production equipment such as hydraulic presses and screw-down machines.
• Capability to work with small components and perform detailed, repetitive tasks with high accuracy.
• Basic understanding of quality inspection, including visual inspection of parts such as hex tips.
• Ability to use or learn to use torque testers and follow torque specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality work.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Reliability in adhering to scheduled shifts and overtime requirements.

• Previous experience working in a clean room or cleanroom environment.
• Background in medical device, medical, or other regulated production environments.
• Familiarity with microscopes or other inspection tools used in assembly or quality control.
• No formal certifications required, making this role accessible to candidates with strong hands-on skills and a willingness to learn.
• Willingness to wear full clean room attire and comply with all cleanliness and contamination control policies.

Work Environment

This position operates in a controlled clean room environment that follows strict GMP standards for medical production. You will wear a head gown and full bunny suit while on the production floor, and you must refrain from wearing makeup, jewelry, or perfume to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination. Work involves using hand tools, hydraulic presses, screw-down machines, torque testers, and other production and inspection equipment, sometimes handling very small parts. Shifts typically include a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with two hours of overtime, and a second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with two hours of overtime, providing a structured schedule in a highly regulated and orderly facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newbury Park, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
